Iron Maidenin odotettu uusi studioalbumi The Final Frontier julkaistaan 16. päivä elokuuta. Uusi albumiraita El Dorado on ladattavissa ilmaiseksi mp3-formaatissa yhtyeen omien webbisivujen kautta osoitteesta www.ironmaiden.com.

Albumin on tuottanut yhtyeen pitkäaikainen luottotuottaja Kevin “Caveman” Shirley ja kansitaiteesta vastaa Melvyn Grant (mm. Fear of The Dark, Virtual XI ja Death on the Road). Albumi on äänitetty Compass Pointin studioilla Nassaussa, jossa Iron Maiden äänitti myös klassikkoalbuminsa Piece Of Mind (’83), Powerslave (’84) ja Somewhere In Time (’86).
“The studio had the same vibe and it was EXACTLY as it had been in 1983, NOTHING had changed! Even down to the broken shutter in the corner...same carpet....everything... It was really quite spooky. But we felt very relaxed in such a familiar and well-trodden environment and I think this shows in the playing and the atmosphere of the album”
The Final Frontier on Iron Maidenin viidestoista studioalbumi kolmenkymmenen vuoden aikana (1980 – 2010). Albumeita on myyty maailmanlaajuisesti yli 80 miljoonaa kappaletta.
Iron Maidenin laajamittainen Pohjois-Amerikan kiertue käynnistyy 9. kesäkuuta Dallasista. Elokuussa Iron Maiden esiintyy Euroopassa muutamilla suurilla festivaali- ja stadionkeikoilla. Suomessa Iron Maiden esiintyy Sonisphere festivaaleilla Porin Kirjurinluodossa 8. elokuuta.
